Puntland Government strongly condemns Wednesday’s indiscriminate attack by suicide bombers in Mogadishu who targeted
the hotel residence of the newly elected President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Puntland sends its condolences to the families of victims killed in this heinous and ruthless attack by Al Shabaab terrorist group.
The terrorist group’s attack on President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud less than 48 hours after his election victory on 10 September 2012 is yet another indication that the terrorist group does not wish for Somalia and the long-suffering Somali people to recover from
decades of statelessness, conflict, and displacement.
The intention of this terrorist attack is to create obstacles to the Somali people’s renewed hope and a fresh start for the Federal Republic of Somalia, following the peaceful and orderly election of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
