UNFPA Somalia Country Office is looking for qualified candidates to fill the following vacancies. Qualifications

  1. 1.        
Finance Associate GS-6 Garowe, Puntland Under the direct supervision of the Head of Office, the Finance Associate delivers quality financial services to internal and external clients mastering all relevant rules, guidelines, processes and procedures. S/he takes a client-oriented results-focused approach to interpreting the rules, procedures and guidelines, providing support and guidance to the CO and UNFPA-supported projects. 

 

Academic Requirements:

Completed Secondary Level Education required. First level university degree desirable.

Experience:

  • 6 years of relevant experience in administration, finance or office management.
  • Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT financial systems.

Programme Associate GS-6 Garowe, Puntland Under the direct supervision of the Head of Office, the Programme Associate supports the design, planning, monitoring and management of UNFPA Somalia’s Country Programme by providing and managing data inputs, providing logistical support, monitoring project implementation, keeping project files and documents and following up on recommendations.

S/he applies established systems and procedures and assists in the creation of the substantive knowledge by compiling, synthesizing and analyzing information relevant to population and development, gender and reproductive health. S/he is instrumental in facilitating programme/project implementation using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems as well as ensuring compliance with established procedures.

Academic Requirements:

Completed secondary level education required. Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Population, Demography and/or other related Social Sciences field is preferable.

Experience:

5 to 7 years of relevant experience in the public or private sector

Programme Assistant GS-5 Garowe, Puntland Under the direct supervision of the Head of Office, the Programme Assistant supports the design, planning and management of UNFPA’s country programme by providing and managing data inputs, providing logistical support, monitoring project implementation and following up on recommendations. The Programme Assistant applies established systems and procedures and assists in the creation of substantive knowledge by compiling, synthesizing and analyzing information relevant to population and development, reproductive health and gender issues. S/he is instrumental in facilitating programme/ project implementation using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures. Academic Requirements:

Completed Secondary Level Education required.

Experience:

  • 5 years of relevant experience in programme/ project management.
  • Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT systems.

 

  1. 4.        
Driver GS-2 Garowe, Puntland Under the direct supervision of the Administrative/Finance Associate, the Driver provides reliable and safe driving services to UN officials and visitors ensuring the highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues.  The Driver also demonstrates a client-oriented approach, courtesy, confidentiality, tact and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds. Additionally, s/he drives the office vehicle for transporting authorized personnel and delivery/collection of mail, documents and other items for the UNFPA office. 

 

Academic Requirements:

Completed Secondary Level Education

 

Experience:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • 3 years work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record.
  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, and local roads and conditions
  • Skills in minor vehicle repairs
